Reboot Expectations
We all have had expectations placed upon us. Some expectations, we place on ourself. Some are by parents, family members, friends, our community, society, etc. You get the picture. But, over time, some of the expectations we picked up may no longer be serving its intended purpose.
Is there an expectation, or a ‘should,’ that is no longer serving you? How is the expectation connected to your values? Are you collapsing those concepts and thinking you cannot meet your values without THAT PARTICULAR expectation or should?

Exercise:
Document (by writing or dictating notes) as many expectations that come to mind, without thinking or editing those thoughts. (This is intended for your use only.)
Review the listing. Highlight/designate the top three that you’d like to challenge.
Think through how to modify each expectation yet still meet the value that is important to you.
